Martin Kohlstedt - NOX (live from Leipzig's Heiland church)

Played live and completely improvised with Gregor Meyer and seven of his great singers from the reknowned GewandhausChoir at the beautiful Heilands church in Leipzig, Germany. This one-take was filmed by Lena Tabea Matthias on an Iphone. The original piece NOX is taken from Martin Kohlstedt's album FLUR.

If you want to be part of this personal journey you can watch, feel and listen to FLUR right here: https://martinkohlstedt.com/flur/

The current events weigh heavily on all of us and occupy a lot of space in our minds – but still I think I've never come this close to actually reflect about these strange times in my music till now. This feeling of us standing in a vast void, each on their own and still there's something that connects us. Oscillating between two poles; being a part of something bigger or acting exclusively for ourselves. NOX tries to convey this scepticism about what actually remains of this solitude on our subconscious, the remnants of being thrown back on ourselves for a little too long.
