The debut full-length album from 18-year-old American pianist/composer Conrad Tao features the above piece by New York composer Meredith Monk, music by Rachmaninov and Ravel, and two of Conrad's own compositions: 'vestiges' for solo piano, and 'iridescence' for piano and iPad.
Conrad describes this album as being "about iridescence, about color, shifting, Perception, hallucinatory shapes".
Listed in Forbes' 30 under 30 list of noteworthy musicians in 2011 (the only classical musician featured), and hailed by renowned music critic Harris Goldsmith as "the most exciting prodigy to ever come my way" (Musical America). Conrad Tao (18) is an impressive, self-assured young man.
