Renaud Capuçon plays "Jean de Florette"

Violinist Renaud Capuçon plays Jean de Florette from Jean-Claude Petit’s score from the film of the same name. The evocative wistful melody draws heavily from Verdi’s La Forza del Destino. This track is one of 19 much-loved tracks from French cinema that form part of the violinist’s second volume celebrating French film composers, entitled Les Choses de la Vie. https://w.lnk.to/lcvieLY

Renaud Capuçon says of the selected tracks, “There’s a great tradition of film music among French composers,” explains Renaud Capuçon. “Each has their own personality, their own style. The music of Alexandre Desplat or Jean-Claude Petit has nothing in common with that of Gabriel Yared or François de Roubaix, but all these titles have a typically French touch and charm.”
